01 · Since 1946

Eighty years on the same lakes

Nisswa Dock has been family owned since 1946. For over 80 years, lakeside residents have trusted us with their docks, lifts and seasonal needs — and the reason is not complicated. We build the dock, we sell the hardware that holds it together, we put it in the water in the spring and take it out in the fall, and we are still here when a bracket needs replacing eleven years later. Service, service, service: we are here for you long after the sale.

Everything is manufactured at our own production facility in Nisswa, Minnesota. Our products are made in the USA, and we take pride in a commitment to partnering with local and regional businesses. When you call the number at the top of this page, you are calling the building where your dock was welded and screwed together.

That means residential shoreline, commercial waterfront and resort dockage all come out of the same shop, and all get the same crew. A resort with fourteen slips and a cabin owner with one 40-foot straight run are handled by the same people.

Photograph needed. Use one of the wide shots already on nisswadock.com/docks — IMG_0019, DOCK-PICS-08-018 or HOLBROOK-DOCK-002 all work here. Shoot from shore, low, so the whole run of the dock reads left to right and the cedar grain is visible in the foreground plank.

02 · What we build

Nisswa Dock Systems

Our standard dock section measures ten feet long by four feet wide. The frame can be either natural cedar or extruded aluminum. Choose the standard adjustable pipe-and-base support system, or our own Nisswa Dock roll-in design, which makes installation a snap. Decking is radiused 5/4 Western Red Cedar, Titan vinyl or AZEK vinyl.

Beyond the standard section we manufacture any dock to your precise specifications and supply all the hardware and accessories required to complete the system. Whether your configuration is straightforward and simple or creatively complex, we have the design and construction capability to build it — and we stand behind what we produce, so you can stand on it with confidence.

  • Frame Natural Western Red Cedar, or extruded aluminum
  • Decking Radiused 5/4 Western Red Cedar · Titan vinyl · AZEK vinyl
  • Standard section 10 ft × 4 ft
  • Configurations Sectional · Roll-In · Floating
  • Support Adjustable pipe and base, or Nisswa Dock roll-in
  • Accessories Steps, ladders, benches, storage boxes, canoe racks, bumpers

Dock applications and configurations are only limited by your imagination. Tell us what you need — (218) 963-2584 — and we will take care of you.

03 · Boat lifts

We sell and service MAX lifts

Whether you own an inboard ski boat, a pontoon or a fishing boat, MAX makes a lift built for it. Every lift in the range carries premium components — Nylatron® pulleys, precision-engineered tower guide rollers, stainless steel leveling cables, 84-inch tall welded towers and industry-leading lifting heights — so the boat sits properly clear of the waterline and stays that way.

We also carry used and consignment boat lifts and docks. Inventory moves, so it is not listed here: call and we will tell you what is on the lot this week. Our team will help you match a lift to the hull you actually own rather than to a catalogue page.

Ask what’s on the lot — (218) 963-2584 or info@nisswadock.com.

Photograph needed. Nisswa Dock already owns IMG_3416 and IMG_0103 on the Boat Lifts page — either fits. Best version: boat up, taken from a three-quarter angle from the water side so the 84-inch towers and the cable run are both readable.

04 · Hardware

The parts, and how to get them

We manufacture and stock the hardware that makes a Nisswa dock a Nisswa dock: aluminum bases with a 9″ circumference, 12″×12″ steel mud bases, corner and flat pipe brackets, male and female corner and flat brackets, hinged versions of each, axle brackets, screw jack brackets, 2″×2″ square hidden leg brackets, dock levelling winches, and stabilizers for 3, 4 and 5 foot wide docks. Seating, tables, staircases and ladders too.

One thing worth knowing before you order. Left side and right side are always determined from the perspective of the shore, looking out at the dock on the lake. Get that the right way round and the part fits first time.

We do not sell parts through the website — call 800-322-3525 and we will pull it off the shelf. Shipping is available.

05 · Service

Spring in, fall out — every year

Nisswa Dock is a dock service company as much as a dock manufacturer. We provide an annual spring installation and fall removal service for docks and boat lifts, and we have serviced accounts on these lakes continuously since 1946. If you are on the list, your dock goes in without you booking a day off work.

We install over a wide geographic area, but not every lake in the north. Call before you assume — we will tell you straight away whether we run your water, and if we don’t, we will usually know who does.

Ask whether we service your lake — (218) 963-2584.

Placeholder frame — the Nisswa Dock crew rolling a dock section into the water in spring goes here
Photograph needed — this one does not exist yet. Shoot it on the first install week of the season: crew in the water in waders, one roll-in section half in, the truck and trailer in the background. This is the single picture that sells the service contract and there isn’t one on the current site.

07 · Design it yourself

The dock builder

We run an online dock designer where you can drag sections into the water and lay out the dock you actually want before anyone quotes it. It covers 4-foot sections in 4, 8, 10 and 12 foot lengths, 5-foot sections in the same lengths, floating sections from 5×8 up to 5×16, roll-in units and ramps, and boat lift footprints from 10×20 up to 12×30. Save the design, print it, or send it straight to us.

Try it: the Nisswa Dock builder — or sketch it on the back of an envelope and call it in. Both work.
