Custom log homes

We work with you to craft the perfect log home package. Start from one of our stock floorplans or bring your own drawing; either way the package that leaves the yard is cut for your plan, not adapted to it afterwards.

We also mill log components — beams, posts, purlins, log joists and wall logs — for carports, log home repairs and additions. If you only need eight matched purlins, that is a real order and we will quote it.

Log home assembly

We offer region specific log home assembly in north central Idaho. If your build is close enough to Weippe, the same people who cut the logs can stack them — which removes the argument about whose fault a bad fit is.

  • 01You send a plan, or pick a stock floorplan.
  • 02We quote the package, in writing, with the log style on it.
  • 03We mill and number the logs at the yard.
  • 04We deliver — and, in north central Idaho, stack.

Form fitting logs

Our logs are lathe spun. Swedish coped, with saddle notched corners. We spin 8″, 9″, 10″ and 12″ diameters, within 1/32″.

That tolerance is the whole reason a Swedish cope wall sits tight. A cope that is a sixteenth out at the mill is a gap you chink for the rest of the building’s life.

Lathe spun, Swedish coped, saddle notched.

A family business

“ILCC is family owned and operated. Every log is handled with care, by people who care.”

The mill is on Wilson Road outside Weippe, up on the prairie in Clearwater County. Charles and Lucas Ashbaugh run it. It is a small outfit and that is deliberate — the person who answers the phone has usually had his hands on your logs.

Two ways, both of them direct. There is no form on this page on purpose — a nine-question estimate form is a lot to ask of someone who just wants to know whether you can spin a 12″ log.
