The rest of the house
Expertise here extends well past kitchens and bathrooms. Pantries, offices, mudrooms, custom built-ins and outdoor kitchens — there is no space too big or too small.
Because dimensions are fully customizable, a cabinet run is sized to the wall it is going on rather than to the nearest three inches. That is most of the difference between custom and everything else.
- Pantries and larder walls
- Home offices and libraries
- Mudrooms, lockers and bench seating
- Outdoor kitchens

Materials & finishes
A curated collection rather than a catalogue. What is on the list is on the list because it holds up.
- European high pressure laminate
- Thermofoil
- Italian and Belgian water-based wood stains
- European matte acrylics
- Zero VOC hardwax oil
- Low VOC European clear coats
- Custom stains and paint colors
European laminates bring scratch resistance, an anti-fingerprint effect and a smooth, soft-to-the-touch surface. North American hardwoods and veneers bring the warmth. Sheet goods are North Carolina-sourced and CARB II certified, and the shop specializes in low and no VOC finishes — which matters most in the room where food gets made.

Questions people actually ask
Six questions about cabinets, answered by the shop that builds them.
How long does a custom kitchen take?
It depends on the size of the run and on how quickly the drawings get approved, so the honest answer is that you get a date rather than an average. Ask for one on the first call and it can be set against your build schedule before anything is ordered.
What is the difference between frameless and face-frame cabinets?
Frameless, or European, construction leaves no face frame across the front of the box, so drawers and shelves use the full internal width. It is the reason a frameless run holds noticeably more than a face-frame run of the same size.
Can you match cabinets to something I already have?
Custom stains and paint colors are part of the standard offering, so matching an existing run, a floor or a piece of furniture is normal work rather than a special request.
Are the finishes safe to have in the house?
The shop specializes in low and no VOC finishes, including zero VOC hardwax oil and low VOC European clear coats, and uses North Carolina-sourced CARB II certified sheet goods.
Do you work outside Asheville?
Yes — full service across Western North Carolina, including job site visits and field measurement. The shop is at 726 Freedom Dr in Canton.
Do I need a designer before I call?
No. Some clients arrive with an architect and a full set of drawings, some arrive with a photograph on their phone. Both start the same way, with a conversation and a measurement.
